Viscoelastic supplement or replacement for synovial fluid
Description
What is Cingal ?
Injection combination of hyaluronic acid and steroids
Cingal is a cream-colored, opaque, sterile suspension for single use of a gel of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) with addition of a corticosteroid (triamcinolone hexacetonide).
Hyaluron is an essential component in the human body and is also found in high concentrations in the joints.
Hyaluronic acid is basically biocompatible , its degradation process follows a normal physiological path.
HA is responsible for many viscoelastic properties of synovial fluid. In this context, the synovial fluid of joints affected by osteoarthritis has a measurably lower concentration of hyaluron and also a lower molecular weight than that of healthy joints.
Dietary supplements containing sodium hyaluronate (viscosupplements) have been shown to be well tolerated in synovial joints affected by osteoarthritis and to relieve pain and improve function by providing lubrication and mechanical support.
What is it used for?
Cingal is indicated as a viscoelastic supplement or replacement for synovial fluid in human joints. It is suitable for quick and long-term relief of the symptoms of joint diseases, such as osteoarthritis.
Cingal works long-term and sustainably by relieving symptoms through lubrication and mechanical support, and also guarantees short-term pain relief thanks to other diamcinolone hexacetonides.
Do not use with:
– Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of Cingal;
– pre-existing infections in the skin area of the intended injection site;
– known infection in the reference joint;
– Known systemic bleeding disorders.
Triamcinolone hexacetonide, the drug adjuvant, is contraindicated in:
– active tuberculosis;
– Herpes simplex keratitis;
– acute psychosis;
– systemic mycoses and parasites (strongyloid infections).
Usage:
Cingal is injected directly into the selected joint space using a sterile, disposable injection needle of appropriate thickness.
Medical professionals must insert the sterile needle into the Cingal syringe using an aseptic technique approved by the health center.
The recommended needle size for knee injections is 18-21 gauge.
Cingal is a sterile preparation supplied in a 4.0 ml disposable glass syringe.
Preservation
Store at a temperature between 2 and 25 °C.
Avoid freezing.
Before using Cingal, the chilled product must be brought to room temperature (this process takes about 20 to 45 minutes).
